I GOT OUT!!

I got out!! Yippee!! YAY!!
We still have plenty of snow and my car has been under a few feet of it. Yesterday I dug my car out and all around it (thanks for the help, George) and then proceeded to get really stuck and had a flat tire also.. And made a mess of the parking area too. Daughter #3s boyfriend came up and pulled me out. I pumped up the tire (I do have an air compressor) and drove to town to the tire place. But best of all I GOT OUT! It felt good to be actually driving. We may still have snow but at least the roads are cleared---finally.

Darn, my pictures went up backwards--why does it do that??

1. My big cat
2. Waterfall at my pond
3. Snowy pond picture
4&5. My car after I got stuck---boy, it sure is dirty.

TONIGHT IS NEW YEAR'S EVE---EVERYONE BE SAFE!!

It's a miracle!

I could not believe it when the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was glorious and even warm in side the house. Now the snow up here will start to melt. It is mostly gone down in the Valley. And tonight the tiny sliver of the moon seemed so shiny until it disappeared behind the dark clouds.

I always liked my little skunk.

Birds in the Valley

So......I am so amazed!!! My daughter came up in her 4X4 and we went down to the Valley to see if the winter visitors were hanging around in the snow. WELL!! While I need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get out of my driveway and down the road---there is hardly any snow down in the valley. I always know that is the way it is but it always amazes me. Tomorrow for sure, I am digging out my car.
Well, I saw lots of Snow Geese, quite a few Trumpter Swan and bunches of Eagles. I took pics of the Eagles but they were feasting on lunch so I opted not to post those pics.
I took my daughter and the boys to lunch so while they were eating and coloring I doodled pics of the boys.
The baby Ostrich is one I did awhile back. He is so cute.

slip-slip-sliding........

The boys were having a great time sledding on the road. Thank goodness we have zero traffic. They really have had a good time the past couple weeks but now the snow is slowly going away. Maybe I can dig my car out too. MB

A Very Interesting Christmas

First, my daughter and SIL, the parents of the two little boys I have been snowed in with for well over a week, came up and spent Christmas Eve and the night. We woke up to another half of foot of snow and still coming down. See ajoining pictures. The computer won't work, the satelitte is jammed with snow and then the power goes off anyway. But we do have a lovely Christmas morning, the boys found their presents. So here are some morning pictures, look how the snow stretches the fencing, (that is what happens to overhead wires too) and the 4th pic is the road I live on and can you see my mailbox?? Pop quiz for the day. MB

December 24th

The day before Christmas--soon to be the night before Christmas when we are all snug in our beds dreaming of Santa, presents, not to mention sugarplums. Will our stockings that were hung by the fireplace with care be filled with goodies or the dreaded coal? Will the jolly gent and his reindeer be flying by?

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Alls well that ends well.....

Although I woke up to more snow on the ground the day turned out to be OK. Ending with a beautiful sunset. Here is one of the many pics I took.

I'll never get out of here..........

......the reindeer are camped on my car's bumper.

We got 5 more inches of the icy stuff over night.

First day of Hanukkah!

I'm tired of snow.......

.....so I am going to post a couple picture I took last summer of the Sauk River.
1. Sauk River with Sauk Mountain in the background
2. Sauk River with parts of Mt. baker way back there

When it comes to scenery and whitewater, the Sauk is a hit! The river itself is federally protected as a Wild and Scenic river system and the pristine mountain scenery and wildlife surrounding the area is untamed. The water itself is a combination of snowpack and glacial melt, making for a beautiful green hue.

Right now--12:56 AM it is snowing and the wind is howling and it is FREEZING.
All I need is a little sunshine!!!

No more snow---HAHAHAHA

I thought I would do no more snow pictures (and I have zillions) but I am stuck here at home and snow is all around. My SIL came up to take me to the store and he broke his 4X axle-my daughter's 4X is in the ditch and her boyfriends 4X with chains is broken in the driveway (yes they do know how to drive in snow). WAH!!
I did get to the store and home before the axle broke. Simple pleasures!

!. Horses waiting for???
2. Odd object-- Mushroom?
3. At least we had blue sky yesterday and snow on the post.
4. Standing in the driveway looking down the road
5. Snow on the pond

The blankety-blank stuff is everywhere--even in my boots. LOL

A beautiful morning

This is what I see out my bedroom window--I love it. Actually this is what I see out of the front--or is it back--of my house. It is a very weird house but as long as I have this view--I don't care.

It is a beautiful morning and nice to see some blue sky. NO SNOW! Well snow is in the forecast but today is supposed to be 'sunny with a few clouds', but very cold, in the teens. But maybe some SUN!! I guess I'll go build a fire. MB

Snow sun

Today was such a gray overcast day--snow still falling--when the sun tried it's darnest to make a showing. No such luck so I call this a 'Snow Sun'/

What car?

Well I wasn't going to any more snow pictures--BUT--we got more snow.
Our power just came back on so of course I have to jump on the computer, after I had to sweep a ton of snow off the satellite, and now tell my tragic tale. LOL
The power was out only about 15hrs--it has been worse.
No school for the past two days so I have Gkids here too. The boys cleaned off my car yesterday afternoon and this is what I woke up to this morning. Yipes!!!!
So we have about 2+feet of snow and man, it is hard to walk in. It;s not fun anymore. MB

Mt. Baker + Update

Well I've been snowed in since Sunday. My car was buried and frozen.. Kylee didn't go to school on Monday and the bus is on snow route and school is 2 hours late so we got busy and thawed out the car and scraped all the snow and ice off of it. We got in the car and it only took two tries to get out of the driveway. As soon as I got off the dirt roads and on pavement the roads were OK. We made it to school and I felt like Mt. baker---I AM OUT FOR THE DAY--YIPPEE!!!!

Well, snowed all night. No school today and I am snowed in again.

Frozen moments and Kylee

1. Side yard
2. I actually caught sparkles on the snow
3. Frozen fern at the waterfall by the pond
4. Frozen water bubbles at the waterfall
5. Kylee on Macaroni with bingo and Jewel by the pond

More resident Eagles

This Eagle pair I caught sight of on the other side of Stanwood in the Stillaguamish Valley. They were busy checking out this nest.

It's daylight

Well now that it is daylight I can add to my morning pictures. Out here we get excited about snow because we don't have too much. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains with lots of snow but it avoids the lower lands. These pics I took off my deck. See the horses out there wondering what's going on. MB

First winter snow

Well it rained all night and the wind blew and the power went out........
But I woke up this morning to the first snow of the winter. Not the first snow of 2008 because we got a ton of snow up here on the hill last April. I took these pics at 5:oo AM this morning. wet, wet stuff......but snow,!!
