Pileated Woodpecker

This guy is usually on the Power pole pecking away at who knows what.  He finally found the suet feeders on the deck.

 And he/she loves apples too

A Very Cool Shot

This place fascinates me.  It is sad and yet perfect.   I want to tell it's story but.....What is it?
I love these images.  They  tell the story of a family, working hard, putting up fences, having a row of fruit trees
Building a nice barn for the cows and maybe a horse or a pony, and of course a few barn cats

Washington State's Treasures in October

On the way to Baker you follow the road to the ski area and then you round a corner and look straight into the Lake and see the Mountain. Two days after we visited snow fell and Shuksan is covered.

Changing colors (Wild Huckleberry and Blueberry).  Mt Baker in the background.  Elevation 10,781ft (3,286m)
Me and Bucky Bingo didn't get to come with us

Big Lake Dairy

A very nice dairy farm and it is where we sometimes get a load of compost for our gardens---very nice stuff.  And they have a gorgeous view of Mt. Baker.

Cloudy sky

First we have  some fog in the hills with the conifers poking through--Took this from home in western Washington on Monday
Now the next picture was taken, also on Monday in Eastern Washington Where you will find sagebrush and windmills co-existing on the same land
Taken the same day 5hrs apart

Way out in the country Fences

These fences are way out in the middle of no-where.  Still being used to hold back cattle?  I don't think so.  Maybe now just to mark boundaries.  Benge-Ritzville road.

Hello Ritzville

We spent several days visiting my eldest daughter and family at the Ranch.  We had a very nice time.

Western washington was rainy, windy and just plain nasty when we left home.  Here we are going up over Snoqualmie Pass.

Now here we are just over the Pass near Keechelus Lake---note the sun is trying to break through
Finally blue sky and we know we are in Eastern Washington.  As different as night and day
A few hours later the Hunter's Moon is rising
We have arrived at the Ranch
Hello the House!!   This is the place!
What you see out the kitchen window---usually full of cows
 And the front driveway
So we are home now and I miss everybody

The challenge is to be Outside on wednesday and everyday for that matter.
go and enjoy the day!!
