More pond pics/per request

This is my pond. It is a natural pond with a small creek filling it and out it goes by waterfall. This time of the year it is low (although past years it has been lower)so the waterfall is dry. The first picture was taken from my deck through a small Magnolia tree and the last picture was taken in March of this year in a Spring snow.

The first pic with the clouds and sun dog I took at 5:11 looking west. With the second one I just turned around and took this totally different pic one minute later, looking east into the Cascades. Pretty weird, huh. MB

Visiting

Last week I took the youngest Grandson to visit GreatGrandmother and we went to Dave Mackie Beach at Useless bay. The tide was waaay out. Useless Bay was so named because it was too shallow for the tall ships of the 1880's, but it is paradise for marine life. I just love a canoe at low tide.

My pond/My Koi

I have a nice little pond on my property and I try to keep it a viable pond able to sustain some kind of wild life. I try to keep it natural. Redwing blackbirds nest in the Spring, Geese and ducks come and go, frogs galore ribbit and splash. And it is full of Koi. I have 14 plus although I have only counted 11 so far this year. They come to the surface when I whistle and talk to me. The Koi are very large and big around.

Skagit Bays lies on the north and west side of Stanwood. North of Stanwood off of Skagit Bay and on the Swinomish channel is the small town of La Connor. A beautiful small town with many beautiful old buildings now a wonderful place to visit.

'Twas a dark and stormy night

As I was driving across the Skagit Valley I took this pic looking east, lots of storm clouds. I then turned west and took this pic through my windshield. I saw a few sunbreaks through the rain and when the sun did come out I turned back to the east just knowing there had to be a rainbow---and there sure was.

The rainbows (double) lasted about 5 minutes. It actually was the second one I saw today. An earlier one in town at about 3:20

I forgot to take pictures.

I didn't really it is just that I took videos instead and now I cannot seem to be able to post them on my blog. AND I WANTED TOO! So here is a mish mosh!
3 day horse stuff. Friday evening Barrel Racing. Saturday and Sunday gaming. Kylee and her friends spent the night at the fairgrounds where the games took place. Well so did most everyone else.They slept in the gooseneck of the horse trailer. A main water pipe broke at the fairground so My daughter and I brought 7 girls home so they could take showers and generally clean up. Hopefully the water will get fixed so they can water their horses. Back to the grounds for the girls. Here are some random pics I took today.
