I have been wandering around the state since last Tuesday. Going to the Ranch in Ritzville and visiting Bob's Son in Spokane--Thanksgiving with my daughter at the Ranch. Off to Walla Walla to see the sights and then over the mountains and back home. On the ranch:
The pictures in my new header are from the ranch except for the middle one---that is from my house. Linking to Mosaic Monday~~~~~HERE
So we are going to be gone for maybe one week and I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and it is my Birthday that very same day so I am the Turkey this year--teehee. To those who don't celebrate that particular holiday --peace and joy to you also. Be good--be safe--or at least show some bit of decorum
Rainbows form when drops of rain act as prisms, breaking sunlight into a multitude of colors. Sundogs appear when sunlight hits clouds of ice crystals and the ice acts as prisms. Like rainbows, sundogs are created when sunlight is filtered by moisture in the sky. I took these in the summer on Whidbey Island So pretty
We usually have a pretty mild Fall---some rain--some not but nice clouds. Winter is mild too--seldom any snow. These barns have weathered the test of time.
This first barn is quite unique---I was told it is a Dutch style granary---I like it.
A lot of Dutch in the Valley
This sweet barn is a bit frazzled but still in use
The next two are in very pretty settings and well taken care of
And this little one and old truck are not in the Valley but on the way to Stanwood. Good for a chuckle
My youngest daughter and I took the Ferry 'Walla Walla' to visit the town of Kingston on the Kitsap Peninsula. It was a gray and overcast day and I thought i hope I get a few good photo ops And I did-----The sun happened to come out for just a moment and I was inspired
I am thankful for the blessings Mother Nature gives us in the Fall of the year. The colors, the leaves dropping letting us know that as life ends it also begins
2 days ago I posted about the Swinomish tribe and today I have a sign at their store which is on Hwy 20 on the way to Anacortes. I have been there many times. Cool Native things.
In 1971, with the support of John and Anne Hauberg, Chilhuly cofounded the Pilchuck Glass School near Stanwood Wa. John Hauberg offered him land on the Pilchuck Tree Farm to build his idea. The Haubergs remained close and helped and listened. Down the long drive.
Some of the buildings today
Working and learning
Chilhuly in the early days---he lost an eye in an accident in England in 1976
Below--the very first of the School. Everything was very primitive..
The school is on the same road I live on in the Tree Farm but one cannot just go there and hang out---It is a working school. Twice a year they have an open house. I have more photos but right now they are lost. I will find them when I don't need them. My Mother at one time spend some learning time there and my BFF's father was invited to join but tuition was just too much for him--life happens A link to learn more~~~school Linking up to Tom's Tuesday's Treasures~~~HERE
The Swinomish SWIN-É™-mish are an historically Lushootseed-speaking Native American people in western Washington state in the United States. The Tribe lives in the southeastern part of Fidalgo Island in northern Puget Sound, near the San Juan Islands, in Skagit County, Washington.
Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.
I love the drive across the Valley to go to Mount Vernon or Burlington. At one farm I have seen piglets but they are always way away but now they are bigger and there they were right along the road. Rooting around behaving like curly tailed pigs.I think they just were moved there because they were having a ball
Hi piggie

Your fairy is called Columbine Goblindancer She is a bringer of riches and wealth. She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows. She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.
