Morning Glories bloom in the morning, in the sunshine and by mid-day they are shriveled and gone. They are very beautiful with an inner glow to them                  Linking to CDP THEME DAY~~~~HERE

Saturday's Critters

These guys were in the yard the other day.  We have lots of nocturnal visitors---not too many show up in daytime.  We have about 14 apple trees and the deer love apples so we always leave some for them.  All the ones that fall during the day are gone by the next morning.  Kinda neat I think.  We have had a bear visit in the night which I think is exciting.  The bear is ok they just leave large piles of 'you know what'.  then again that is how we know the bear or bears have been here.
I opened the door so I could take some pictures and alerted them.
Two youngins'  Last years babies I think
Nice buck.  He heard me but wasn't too too concerned but after he watched the others leaping away he just sauntered off

Hunter's Moon

I was so hoping I could catch the Hunter's Moon but it had been raining during the day and overcast in the evening but I was hoping.  So after 10pm I noticed the moon rising through the fog and clouds.
 Through the fog
 Mist all around

Not too bad a shot.

This was the cloud cover during the day.

A Country Home

I saw this nice country home down a dead end road on the outskirts of Stanwood.  A  little bridge over the ditch and an archway way gate.

Moving Cows

Spent a few days at the ranch where my daughter lives on her husband's family ranch.  There were moving mamas and the boy babies from one pasture to another in anticipation of sending them to their new home.  they do all their work on horseback and their faithful dogs helping.
Here's a pair saying "Whatcho lookin' at"

Cardinal Meadowhawk

I was sitting on the fron steps watching bob digging up the sod for more garden space out front.  We were adding more space for more bulbs---Tulips and Dutch Iris---when this little critter showed up.
I thought he was real pretty.
So very  RED and look at his wing tips

Here is the tail end of the project.  It is the strip along the front yard out to the road.  So all across the front is a flower garden.  Of course Bingo is always there to help.

First Day on the Road

Here in the west we have more Conifer trees with green needles than Deciduous trees with leaves that turn gorgeous colors.  But we do have some.  Mostly Larch, Cottonwood and Big Leaf Maples and they are glorious gold.
Here are some scenes on our first day up in the mountains.

Inside Murals for Monday Murals

In September we visited Bob's son and daughter in law in Spokane.  Michelle is very artistic has the whole house decorated in different themes.
This mural is in the bedroom we stayed in.  The bedroom was decorated all in black and white.  Not Goth style but very white and lacy black.  Victorian I imagine

Another shot of the bedroom with a mural of a lamp-post on the wall

Visiting

Bob's Daughter Marianne was visiting from Arizona.  She was here for a week and we visited everyday.  She stayed at her sister Colette's  home.
It was fun to be around laughing sisters.   One evening after dinner Mari played the guitar and sang songs from the 70's and 80's.  She loved Janis Joplin and Creedance and folk singers.  It was a good time.
The day before we went up to Mt. Baker
Here are Colette and Marianne at Baker

Not so much Water

We have been having a drought in our state of Washington.  Not so much water over these falls---Nooksack Falls near the Mt. Baker Highway--on the way to Mt. Baker
It looks full and heavy and is still beautiful
Mt. Shuksan(el. 9191ft-2783m) in the background has very little snow and even in the late summer, early fall would and should have more snow.
