May 1st theme day~~~~Artisan

An artisan or craftsman is a skilled hands on worker who makes items that may be decorative or functional, including jewelry, sculpture, tools or household items  or even machines such as the handmade watches. An artisan is therefore a person engaged in or occupied by the practice of an art or craft and experience will reach the expressive levels of an artist using his hands, mind and heart in his work and what he creates.
The hands of an artisan---a very amateur one,
 Grows things from seeds,
 And plants them in pots,
 and containers,
and shares the enjoyment with others.

Back in old Arizony

The Clevenger House was built right into the overhanging rock.  One whole room was actually part of the overhang.  In the heat of the day the inside is very cool.
Very small by todays standards but people actually lived here.
This is the room the door opens to and the next room and off to the left is the room built into solid stone.  And that's it.  3 rooms.

Snoqualmie Falls

Going to or coming from Ritzville we always have to stop at Snoqualmie Falls.

Snoqualmie Falls is a 268 ft (82 m) waterfall on the Snoqualmie River between Snoqualmie and Fall City Washington   It is one of Washington's most popular scenic attractions, but is perhaps best known internationally for its appearance in the cult television  series Twin Peaks. More than 1.5 million visitors come to the Falls every year, where there is a two acre (8,000 m²) park, an observation deck, and a gift shop.
Most of the river is diverted into the power plants, but at times the river is high enough to flow across the entire precipice, which creates an almost blinding spray. High water occurs following a period of heavy rains or snow followed by warm rainy weather. This can occur during the rainy season which lasts from November through March. During high water, the falls take on a curtain form.
For the Snoqualmie people, who have lived for centuries in the Snoqualmie Valley in western Washington, Snoqualmie Falls is central to their culture, beliefs, and spirituality. A traditional burial site, to the Snoqualmie, the falls are "the place where First Woman and First Man were created by Moon the Transformer" and "where prayers were carried up to the Creator by great mists that rise from the powerful flow." The mists rising from the base of the waterfall are said to serve to connect Heaven and Earth.  (Wikipedia)

World Bird Wednesday----Stellar Jay

This is a bird we call our Blue Jay is actually a Stellar Jay (cyanocitta stelleri)
Very noisy bird and can mimic other birds and even meow like a cat.  Kind of a bully bird around feeders.  They hog everything.
They are a large bird--12" and one of the most intelligent birds around.
