Festival----postponed!
Every end of March and all through April Skagit Valley hosts the Tulip Festival---well this year because of the Covid-19 the festival has been canceled. Well the Tulips are still growing on the several thousand acres planned for them but the Display Gardens at Roozengaard and Tulip Town are closed........
One can still drive through the valley and gander at the fields but "stay in the car"!

We see these signs and life jackets at many of our waterways. Mostly at boat launches

Almost Spring
Spring is only a few days away and we have been enjoying our new Spring flowers. We are having beautiful sunny days with clear blue skies although the temp this morning was 20degrees F----brrrr.
But it warmed up to a whopping 45degrees F.
Frosty Morning
Sunny Skies and happy crocus
Random stuff

Valley Barns
When we went out the other day to check out the Daffodils--HERE in the Valley we captured some more barns too
I love the snowy hills in the back. They look weird to me and yet interesting
This barn is on the Historical/Heritage list. It was built in 1905
Last but not least --look it's a car barn.

Workers
The farmers in the Valley are waiting for the fields to dry out so they can begin to prepare the soil for planting. In the meantime the thousands of Daffodil and Tulip bulbs are coming up and blooming. The Daffodils are up and blooming and the Tulips are up and will bloom in about a month.
Here the wokers are picking Daffs to go to market. The budded ones travel all over the US to be sold.
Here is what they are picking---all the same size, bud etc.
There are many fields scattered all over the Valley and display gardens at the two main growers. These bulbs are sold all over the world
Beautiful fields
Thankful to be living in such a beautiful area

They're Back
The Red winged Blackbirds are back. I love to see them and listen to the Male's beautiful songs. They are a little timid right now but I did manage to get a couple of pics before--zip---they were gone.
So not the best but there will be more-----soon.

I love Clouds
These clouds I took yesterday morning from the patio looking East for the first one and immediately looking North and took the next shot. What a difference. It turned out to be a sunny outside kind of day. We pruned the Apple trees----such fun---haha

Spring is Knocking on the Door
Early Spring in the Skagit Valley.
Daffodills are blooming in the Valley---about a total of 1,000 acres and the Snow Geese are still here--maybe until April and then back to Siberia they go
Eagles, Trumpeter Swan and Snow Geese abound
