A HAPPY AND JOYFUL NEW YEAR TO ALL
.........does the moss grow~~~~~~NORTH??
Do you think it gets wet here?
It's kinda pretty and only grows in the forest land near the high up rivers. This is on the South fork of the Nooksack River.
Looks like teeny ferns
I have always loved this old place. Everytime I see it (obviously) it drags down a little bit more. Moss on the chimney
I played with this a bit. Looks furry, huh

We have quite a few Eagles that winter over on the Skagit, Samish Rivers and Padilla bay in our own Skagit Valley but we decided to go NE to the Nooksack River and capture some more.
And I got bunches more pics. The Eagles in the river are eating spawned out Salmon.

I liked the way this farm looked. All neat and tidy

I liked this one with the rusty roof and the snow on the hill in the background
Isn't this a nice place
I played around with this barn and I kinda like the effect

FROM MY HOUSE TO YOURS....................................................
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A JOYFUL NEW YEAR..............
If you are not farming or raising animals or anything else then you may have too much time on your hands.
We watched this growing over the last couple of years and now Donald is decorated for Christmas.
Took some Eagle shots today on this cold, very windy and rainy gray day. Low light so lots of black dots in the trees.
There were 8 birds plus the nest in this tree
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL~~~~~~~ENJOY
We visited Bob's Son and daughter-in-law and they have every room in the house decorated for Christmas. It was all very beautiful and here are a few images.
Some small trees
Big dolls and little dolls
Of course one has to decorate the bathroom too
Another tree---there were 5 altogether
One of many treasures
Of course we were offered some goodies too

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ONE AND ALL!!!
Bob took these two shots yesterday (with my camera) as we were going through the Valley. I always find it strange to see such an ungainly Bird up in a tree.
The tall, long-legged great blue heron is the most common and largest of North American herons.
Great
blue herons are waders, typically seen along coastlines, in marshes, or
near the shores of ponds or streams. They are expert fishers. Herons
snare their aquatic prey by walking slowly, or standing still for long
periods of time and waiting for fish to come within range of their long
necks and blade-like bills. The deathblow is delivered with a quick
thrust of the sharp bill, and the prey is swallowed whole.

It started out foggy yesterday but up at our house it was quite sunny early on. We had some errands to run in MOunt Vernon so off we went and when we came down the hill it was socked in foggy and stayed foggy for most of our travels.
Early in the morning fog is obliterating the hills but the sky is blue
On the way back from Mount Vernon we cut through the Valley and the fog was dissipating and rolling through the lower hills. I thought it looked pretty. See the Trumpeter Swan dotting the fields.
Up close
I like this shot. See the sun on the hill in the background and the blue sky. It lasted about an hour---oh well!

Yesterday (Monday) started out very nice---but ended badly--more RAIN.
So in the morning we went for a short ride near home. We saw several types of feathered fowl.
It rained in the night and was a bit fogging in the morning but the sun was going to shine. See the Downy Woodpecker on a branch by the suet feeder.
There it is on the feeder.
These Trumpeter Swan were in an old corn field. We took several pictures.
This guy was in the trees just across the road. Actually there were two Eagles there but the other one was obstructed by too many branches.
This pair were on the pole at the beginning of the road---actually at the church overflow parking lot.

We got this pretty grill for summer fun. I hadn't BBQ'd much or grilled at all but Bob and his family do and now we do too. Of course one can grill year around.
Ain't she sweet!!

I went to a garage sale in this barn many years ago and it looked just the same as it does now.
I like this place. It is a dairy operation
