Farming in the Valley

Last week we wandered into the Valley and the farmers are at work.  Interesting to watch.
They are planting Broccoli.

Field is ready---
You see they have stacks and stacks of little seedlings----the ones behind the stacks drop the plants into the furrow and the two outside make sure they are upright.
Workers, more carts with flats of the plants and the water truck
And now you can see the rows.---We talked to the workers and they said they were planting  Broccoli

More Valley Barns

Actually got out of the house----it was essential---Went for a round about drive and took pics of barns.  All close to home.

This used to be a barn but now it looks like someone lives there now.

Strange

My eldest took these sky pics on the ranch.  I think they are amazing.  Help me here--I think this phenomena is called Anticrepuscula Rays.

Snow Geese

The majority of Snow Geese have left our Valley to go back to Wrangle Island--Siberia to their breeding grounds---and are the farmers happy.  The farmers are preparing the fields for planting their various crops and some fields already growing were getting gobbled up by these birds.  But we love them and miss seeing their vast displays.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for so many things--first of all because I wake up every morning and will continue to do so.  I am safe and healthy and so are my family and friends.
I am thankful for this beautiful weather we are having and I am enjoying it too.
Everyone--Take care and be safe

Tulips

These Tulips are from our yard.  Since we can't go to the Tulip Festival and we plant hundreds of tulips ourselves so here are the early bloomers.

We also have 8 large containers I stuffed with Tulips bulbs and hopefully they will bloom soon

Sky Stuff

Since we are all quarantined by this danged Covid-19 that means we have lots of work to do at home and take an occasional road trip to take pictures.

This first one is from today---beautiful skies--all blue and temps in the low 60s.  We are going to have at least 10 days of this dandy weather.  So here is my greenhouse and my gator and Bob John Deere. Lots of outside work.   Fun stuff

This shot is from a few days ago when we took a drive through the Valley.  I love clouds

Pink Moon

Not really a pink Moon---called that because of all the trees with Pink flowers.
The name "Pink Moon" comes from the bloom of ground phlox, a pink flower common in North America, according to The Old Farmer's Almanac. It has also been called the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and the Fish Moon.

I took this as the Moon come up over the hill behind us.

This was next and is my favorite
 And then----The Moon
