Rosario Elementary School

Lovely little school well taken care of and you can see the outhouses used by boys and girls.
The school closed in 1955---imagine

"Rosario School in Anacortes was built by Trenholm and Black for the Rosario School District in 1890-1891. The school originally had a second story, as evidenced by the window above the doorway. It is said that the upstairs room was intended for parties and parent meetings. Several families reportedly refused to allow their children to attend school for fear the building would blow over in a high wind. In response, Blaine and Sam Giles, Charlie Livingston and Wallace Sharpe removed the second story during the summer of 1909.

The Skagit County Historical Society owns Rosario School now. In 1976, the Anacortes Lions Club repaired and repainted the building.

I am Thankful......

To wake up every morning and I can look out the window and see a glorious sunrise---not every morning but the sun does rise everyday---seen or unseen.
It comes up behind the hill that sits behind the house

I can go for a walk in our forest with the dog or...
Play with the pup in the yard---hope this movie works----look below---i think i did it
I am thankful for my many flowered garden not to mention the veggie garden also.  I am thankful I can pick some strawberries or Blueberries to put on my morning cereal

I am thankful for the setting sun also and a video of running Jack
