Foggy sunrise turns blue sky

Yesterday was a very foggy morning and by 9AM the fog was gone and we had another beautiful blue sky day.

In the afternoon we took the dogs and went for a walk/stroll/hike along the wetlands at the Wiley Wildlife area.  Nice!

Reflection

I found this amazing.  While parked in a parking lot the sun hit Bob's Jeep just right to cause this reflection/shadow of his rim.  I thought it was pretty cool looking.

manipulation

I went to the doc yesterday---My knee was stuck at 60% so he suggested manipulation today (friday) or Monday  I said now!  so off we went.
I will start to blog again soon.  Wish me luck and only minimal pain.  Ouch Ouch Ouch!!!
This is the knee with the operation and since them 'manipulation'.  We, both the doctor and I, had to initial the knee to be manipulated so they did the right (left) one.  haha!  See how swollen it is.  I have to elevate it and ice it and be off of it for a few days but can start exercises right now.
Pretty gory, huh!

First Hike!

Went for my first albeit short hike after surgery.  Bob and I went to the Tree Farm.  Both our houses are on or in the tree farm.  Pilchuck Tree farm is comprised of 15,000 acres of mixed wood forest.  there are over 100 miles of trails and forestry roads.  The trails are created and managed by the Horse riders association and various mountain biking groups.  No motors allowed..  So it was a nice day on Monday so off we went.
We came to this clearing which is actually a replanted area.  It was logged awhile ago.
Here are some new little trees coming up.  I saw mostly Cedar and douglas Fir replanted.
A forestry road.  I forgot to post a beautiful path we took
We did syop and partake in the yummy blackberries
Another view from the tree farm. I think that is Mt. Pilchuck in the background

Two-fer-one

Two barns today.  One still used and one so sad by the side of the road.

This barn is in  Stanwood.  No more cows and all the fields are used to put up hay.
This barn is beside highway 20 waiting for someone to rescue it.  When they widened the road a few years back is became obsolete.

Do the Gallywumpus on over to Tricia's place www.bluffareadaily.blogspot.com to see more charming barns.  Enjoy!!

Work party time

My daughter's boyfriend who has his own construction business is redoing the east side of the driveway---regrading it and graveling it---and Bob is pruning back all the overgrown shrubs.   It is so nice to have some hardworking men around.
The west side of the garage is more driveway which goes back to the barn and the wild goats.  MB

An old barn for Barn Charm

This barn is on the same dirt road I live on.  I have pictured it before.  It is almost gone on the other side.  The whole property is now for sale.  It has an older house and a middle aged house and several fenced pastures.  I know the people that live there now love the old barn and have tried to keep it afloat.  I hope it doesn't get torn down.  My grand-daughter took this picture and glamorized the second one.

wiggle on over to Tricia's at www.bluffareadaily.blogspot.com to view more charming barns.
ENJOY!!

High as an Elephants eye

Me in the corn.  Not our corn but some farmer's huge field.  Looks like field corn.  Silage for dairy cows.

Guemes Island Ferry

Last Spring (before surgery which I shall refer to as BS from now on) we went to Guemes Island to hunt for agates on the beach.  We found many and polished them up.  Fun little side trip.  The ferry is out of Anacortes which is about 35 minutes from home and the boat ride is about 7min.  A fun little trip

Here is a picture of some of the agates and rocks we found and polished..
