The first of every month is a theme day for City Daily Photo members.
July's theme is UPSIDE DOWN.
Guess which way this house really is--is the first one flip or flop? Upsidedown?
rightside-up
There is a clue in this shot. Can you guess? Upside-down?
Rightside-up?

Last Tuesday I posted pics of our Cherry trees with ripening cherries and now the cherries are ripe and we picked some off the smallest tree and I made some yummy syrup. We used it on ice cream. It was great. Next morning we used it on pancakes and I almost forgot to take a picture. I did forget to take one of the ice cream and we ate so so fast it was just....gone.
Oh so good. I had juice running down my chin
I almost forgot to take a pic with the syrup and now it is all gone
Not the best pic but it tasted so good.

Traveling on the backroads we found this pretty fence and an old John Deere-----Nothing Runs Like a Deere.
~~~~~~Maybe~~~~~~~
Nice white wrought iron fence
And hiding behind the barb wire fence is
a John Deere tractor---It's an old timer
These Nasturtiums are volunteers and also are huge and they just keep on growing. Pretty too.
It's climbing up the front of the house. There are 3 birdhouses on a stand behind the crazy thing.
But they are pretty and they make pretty long lasting cut flowers
They run rough-shod over other flowers
And speaking of volunteers---right smack dab in the middle is a volunteer Sunflower. I wonder how tall it will get.
The Cherries are ripe here at our house. Two pie Cherry trees and 3 Sweet Cherry Trees. Oh YUM!!
OH YUM!!!
We went down to the valley to get a good angle on Saturday evening Sunset. Not a really flaming sunset but delicious in other ways.
The golden sun was shining on everything. Upper left hand corner is a Potato field--it was glowing as was the Wheat field across the road from it. The lower center picture is of Mt. Baker across another grain field. Mt. baker is NE of the westerly Sunset. See the touch of pink on the summit
I really like this picture with the hill in the background. The sun is making everything glow and I superimposed another picture with it.
This Goldfinch thinks he found the Mother lode of all lunch kitchens
He sure is stuffings his face
Yummy!!
More! More!
Yep I got it all
The Goldfinch is a beautiful bird to have grace ones yard and feeders. Mostly they like thistle seed but this guy is gorging at the seed feeder.
The American Goldfinch is the state bird of Washington as well as Iowa and New Jersey.
Oops you are yellow but not a bird.
We went for a nice Sunday Drive around Lake Cavanaugh. Lake Cavanaugh in Skagit County, Washington is deep in the heart of the
Pacific Northwest logging country. Soon after settlers heeded the words,
“Go West” the market for logging products was born. The vast forest
products in the Lake Cavanaugh area brought a flurry of activity around
the turn of the 20th century. Logging is still a staple in this rural area of Skagit County.
Lake Cavanaugh
The road around the lake and over the hills
Starting at the west of the lake going east and ending up in the town of Oso. The small town where the huge landslide was--wiping out a whole area and killing 43 people. OSO STRONG!
A mural of a red Rooster on a shed in the town of Oso
Looking up into the Cedar trees
Across the valley and seeing Whitehorse MT to the left and 3 Fingers to the right. Hardly any snow this year.
The logging here is selective and replanted immediately
I would love this little farm nestled up to the forest and hills
Turning the second barrel----Beautiful horse
Taking off from the third barrel and racing for home
Flying hair and flying tail on Mac.
She was the second rider out of 113 contestants and she held on to win the whole thing.
GO, KYLEE AND MAC!!!
We have been having extra hot days lately and no rain in sight but foggy in the morning up in the hills. Tomorrow is supposed to be about 15 degrees cooler and then back up goes the temperature but cloudy.
Crazy weather and it's not yet even summer.
I took this from the house and you can see our greenhouse looking lost all by itself. Kinda cool though
This fence is a fairly new fence.
I like the way the fences undulates along the pasture and disappears into the woods
Zig-zag
.The shadows look so neat on the fence here.
we are having a heat wave--and it is hot for us this time of year. In the 80s and no rain for ever so long and none in sight. We are in a drought already. Our well is getting low and that usually happens around August It is a double edged sword because we like the sunshine but need and want it to rain. Well our garden really needs the rain. So there.
