Ranch barn for Barn Charm
This is the main barn on the ranch
Another shot.
Picture of the indise. Part of it anyway. This is where all the branding, checking the health of the cows/calves/bulls. A lot of work is done here and then it is cleaned spotless. These ranchers are hard workers and know a clean working area is healthy.
Sash-shay on over to Tricia's www.bluffareadaily.blogspot.com to see more charming barns and enjoy

Hiking, Mt. Baker, Snow, Color oh my!
Monday we decided to take a ride up to Mt. Baker. First time out in my new hiking boots. YAY!!! One cannot get to the top of Baker but just to her flanks. My knee is getting better--not 100% yet but I feel good so off we go. We went to an area called Heather Meadows where in the Spring it is all pink and white from the low growing Heather. This time of year id is bright red from all the native Blueberry bushes. Mount Baker is 14, 784 ft. We did go on up to Artists Point which is at the 5000ft plus level. Lots of trails, easy and hard, up and down to have fun on. A beautiful sunny day and the temp up there was 65degrees F.
Mt, Baker from Artists Point. We are just a hop and a skip.
Walkway at Picture Lake with fall colors
Across the lake showing colors. Heather Meadows
Bob, Buck and yours truly. The higher you go you do find more snow.
A patch of colorful Blueberries

Rodeo Queen Contestant
Rodeo Queen poster. You can always pick Kylee out in a crowd.
Kylee and Dally showing the Flag for the judges
Putting Dally through his paces for the judges. Dally is a horse Kylee has had since he was 1 and now is 4. She has trained him herself. Macaronie will still be her Barrel Racing horse and Dally will be fit for a Queen.
One thing the girls had to do was show their horsemanship by riding a horse they had never seen before and show how well they could handle it.
The girls also had to give a speech about rodeo, make a scrapbook about themselves and horses etc, create a tableau showcasing themselves answer questions and be interviewed. Oct 20th is the coronation and we will find out who becomes the new Rodeo Queen.

Eagle nest
While hiking along the waters at the Skagit Wildlife Area I spotted an Eagle nest with I thought an Eagle below. So we just had to go and see. Not only was there a young (juvenile) Eagle there but close by an older Bald Eagle. See the Eagle below the nest.
We do have resident Eagles and these are probably a pair but this area is where Eagles come down from the far north and winter over. Arriving soon and leaving in February to March. Very exciting to see many Eagles, other Raptors and also the Snow Geese and Trumpeter Swan that over winter here .
This is a wetland area. Full of all kinds of birds and alive and dead vegetation.
