CDP Theme day---April Fool

When I was little we used to think we fooled out Father by putting salt in the sugar bowl.  He put sugar in his coffee.  He would gasp and choke and make amazing faces just for us kids.  We would laugh and laugh.

Today I chose to show you Bob's son as the April Fool---well his birthday is in April

Birds

The red Winged Blackbirds are back.  The gobble up all the feed in the feeders and then squawk for more. Actually the male has the most beautiful songs and he sits in the big Mable tree and called his females to come to supper.  they fill the tree and I fill the feeders.

Well how weird.  I uploaded the blackbirds first but the Finches came up instead.  We have had a steady flow of Purple Finches.  It seems the House Finches have moved on for awhile.

Now I don't know what this bird on the left is.  It appeared and it was yellow-orange---so any guesses?
I took these Red Wings today.  And the female, when she puffed up her wings she had flashes of red under them.  Is that possible?

CLOUDS

I have always been a cloud lover.  They just fascinate me.  I used to belong to a group called 'Cloud Appreciation society'.  I never could match up what some people posted.  Marvelous stuff.  Well that was 25 yrs ago.  I think I will look them up again, someday.  I took these shots during the past few days.

A Sun Bow

A sun dog.   I could go on forever but I will stop here.  I might even or rather I know I have maybe better pics but you get there.  LOL

When you live by the Ocean and Sound and your land is known to have had a few earthquakes you may see these signs around

It could happen I suppose

Spring is here!!

Now that Spring is here these wonderful, noisy and fun to watch birds will soon be on their way back to their breeding ground on Wrangle Island Siberia.

Snow Geese arrive in our Valley in October and stay until March or even later.  The Farmers want them gone in February so they don't ruin their winter planted crops.  It's Nature          The total count is around 100,000 birds

Watching the Sky

We have been having fantastic early Spring day.  Blue skies and plenty of Sun.  Not specially warm but still perfect to spend the day outside.

This was this morning's sky---7:10AM---here comes the Sun

This shot I took in Stanwood (Stilly Valley) Valley as I was coming home from the store.  Love the big puffy clouds.

Sky Watch

We have been having some nice nice weather lately although it is raining right now.  I personally am waiting for prolonged nice weather to get up to the mountains and hike hike hike.  Or play.

Right now there is way too much snow up there.  Record amounts on the mountains and at all Passes.

This is what yesterday looked like

This is where I want to be.  This was in September
I love the mountains.  I feel so good up there and I breathe freely.

Thankful Thursday

Things are bumping along down in our Valley.  Daffodil season is upon us and soon the Tulips will be in bloom.  A few thousand acres of flowers---combining Daffodils and Tulips

Before the Daffodils all bloom the workers go out in the fields and cut many bundles of the flowers to be sold in stores here and across the country.

The Valley has dairy, vegetable and flowers farms and I am thankful to live here
