Memories of Bingo

Bingo departed from this earth almost 10 months ago.  We still miss him and even though we rescued another dog I sometimes call him Bingo.
Here are some pictures of my DOG.

Bingo had a sweet face and he loved sitting on my bed and looking out the window

 He helped with chores and rode on the Gator even when he got too big.  One day I came into the dining room and he was sitting in the chair reading the newspaper.  He guarded the flowers too

 I had been looking for the picture of him when he was tiny riding on the Gator but I found it too late to post it with the others.

He was my dog that kept me company when I was alone

Over in Benge

Historical sign in Benge, Wa.  Benge is a very small town near Ritzville, Wa

The Mullan Military Road, started in 1859 by Lieutenant John Mullan, connected the upper navigable Missouri River with the Columbia River. This 624-mile road, which passed through what was later to become the town of Benge, was completed in 1862 at a cost of $280,000. The Benge section of the road was completed on May 22, 1861; the wagon ruts were still visible in 2008 just northeast of town at the site of the First Benge School. Although built as a military road, it was used by civilians for both travelers and cargo transport until the Northern Pacific Railroad was completed in 1883.^[1]

The town is named after Frank H. Benge, who represented Adams County in the State Legislature in 1904. Benge and his wife donated the land upon which the town site was platted on May 13, 1907.

Frank & Mary Crouch Benge and daughters came to Adams County in 1892. They had lived on the current site of Benge for 15 years when the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway surveyed the rail line to pass right through their ranch house. The Benges were paid $5,000 to move their house. They built an 11-room house with the rock excavated from a nearby rail cut. The house became a boarding house and served as a community center for a number of years

On of my favorite places to go--whether to hike, relax or just enjoy is Mt. Baker. Heather Meadows and Artist Point.

Today was a very nice day.  Weather nice--shirt sleeve weather--65F clouds and blue sky too.
I love clouds
We take the dog for a run to the way-back pasture and through the woods.  Good for him good for us

Mosaic Monday

I wonder what my new day might bring and I know it will be good.  Here it is 6:40 am and as I prepare my blog I also am watching a young doe eating apples that have fallen from our trees.  We share

So today I am going to ENJOY!  Also can some Tomatoes and also Pears and smell the flowers

 As the moon affects the tides it also affects my moods---well maybe--LOL

We had a beautiful sunrise and a nice day and then it started raining at 7:30 pm and it is pouring now.

It's Tomato picking time.......

Tomorrow we will be picking Tomatoes and Pears.  Tomatoes are ripe NOW!  Pears have to be picked before ripening and then they will ripen without mushy spots.
