Snow Geese winter over in Puget sound mostly Skagit County on Fir Island. Most of the birds here come from Wrangle Island in Siberia. First sighting here are in October and gone by April. Huge flocks sometimes in the 90, 000s or more. Very noisy in the air and constantly moving on land. Like they were on a slow moving conveyor belt. And in case you are wondering they do jettison their load before flying.

Hello, they are pretty geese. They are on the East coast here too in the winter months. Always a cool sight to see these huge flocks of geese. Wonderful images and mosaic. I love to see and hear the geese in the winter. We don’t get the Snow Goose here though.
What a crowd!
We always look for the geese and swans when we drive south to Seattle. On a trip along Chuckanut Drive last month there were lots of swans to see. - Margy
I'll never forget the first time we stopped and enjoyed thousands of these birds fly in and land in Skagit Valley. Amazing experience. I wonder how the farmers feel about them.
