My friend sent me these pictures of the Hummingbirds still hanging around even though winter is here. I know they winter over but have never seen them this late in the year. They sure love his feeders. Photos by DJ
BTW: All the snow disappeared overnight. Amazing. MB
I have heard of such and there is even a book that my MIL read about one that stayed during the winter but never really saw one who braved the winter until you showed his photo. Love that header. Peace
Your fairy is called Columbine Goblindancer She is a bringer of riches and wealth. She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows. She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

gosh. these are little miracles. i hope all is well with the birds this winter.
Fascinating little creatures. The ones we had in Michigan all moved south last Fall. Hard to believe they could survive in snow.

These are pretty darn good shots...hummingbirds are notoriously hard to catch on film. I'd guess they'll head south in a little while.
But your header photo is simply scrumptious!
Wow Mary Beth... How lucky to still be seeing Hummingbirds.. I'm envious!!!! They are gorgeous and you captured some great pictures.
Hugs,
Betsy
You have hardy hummingbirds! Ours - the rub=throated hummingbird - leave Ontario in early September. They won't be back till mid or late May.
