Freeway Artist

I took these pictures last May driving on a frontage road by I-5 freeway north of me near Conway. I don't know what he was painting because he was facing NW which is just more freeway and an overpass. Maybe that was it--the overpass. I thought it was interesting. He is standing in meadow flowers. Hmmmm---I would probably be curious enough to stop and ask him what the heck he was painting... There are more beautiful areas around--don't you think??????ha

Very curious, indeed!

Maybe he was painting the flowers. Yet what an unusual place to paint.

Sometimes an overpass can be quite nice. I wonder what that one looked like - but then in the right spirit, an artist can find enchantment in just about anything. It would be cool to see what his results were! Nice images. I hope you're having a nice holiday.

Thanks again for the unusual post of the artist. You have such a knack. Also I liked seeing the sunflower stars. I appreciate as well the kind sentiments you expressed on my blog today. You are one remarkable lady. I look forward to many more exchanges of thoughts in the future.

Who wish to paint an overpass? Very funny catch!

Strange subject but why not after all? I hope you weren't the one driving (oops... listen to me, I'm the one taking photos while driving...)

He must have seen something he liked!

I also think he was painting the flowers. He obviously doesn't care what other people think, however.

Couldn't do that in TN as he would be removed by the Tennessee State Patrol. Surely he could have taken a photo and then painted from the photo. Very dangerous painting. Peace and Happy New Year.

His subject should be interesting to know.

However., a photography class teacher said there were photos everywhere and pointed out an entire essay in photography was taken from a window by and invalid.

All we have to do is think creatively. Hmmm, I need to get to thinking.

Interesting post I wonder what he is painting too, maybe it is an abstract and has nothing to do with his surroundings or one of the daisy at his feet,or it could be that house across the freeway.
We may never know.

I think your camera is a lemon, MB! It must have been put together on a Friday afternoon...very close to quitting time. Three times needing a fix is crazy!

Maybe the artist was painting a mirage.

A painter once painted my house and I was so excited...but when I looked at the painting, the building wasn't the same shape or colour as the house. What WAS he looking at?

When I lived in Blaine and worked in Bellingham, I drove past a marshy spot in the median nearly every day, which was the haven of one crazy (and perhaps deaf?) great blue heron. There he'd stand in his strip of cattails between north and south-bound lanes of traffic going 70 mph. I made that drive for two years, and he (or she) was almost always there. It was sort of sad, and sort of defiant. This painter reminds me of the heron-- when you see a patch of wilderness, even next to a freeway, it still can be worth a lot to someone!

We all certainly all see life with a unique lens. He obviously sees beauty where many can not. He is an artist, for sure.
