November 11th is Veterans Day in the US. It was called Armistice Day to honor the the fallen in the 1st World War, but was later changed to Veterans Day to honor all the armed forces.
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
~ John McCrae

Beautiful tribute MB. That's got to be one of the most famous poems in the whole world.
I love the photos and the colors!
Beautiful picture, I love all of the colors. There is suppose to be a parade in Dallas today. But it has been raining pretty hard all night, so it may not happen.
The photo of the poppies and lupine is gorgeous! Perfect to go with the poem. ;-)
AWSOME!!!
A wonderful tribute!!!!!
Beautiful - I have such a soft spot for soldiers and the veterans that I tear up every single time someone mentions them! That was a very nice tribute!! Gorgeous photo too!
I can't read that poem without crying.
A beautiful photo and a touching poem today. Thanks, MB.
Very Pretty. Did it stop raining there? We did get a nice shower or two. Take care.
