Most Eagles I can get pretty close to and they won't fly away and this guy landed about 3 feet away from take-off. Look at the size of his wings.

Heron taking of from Swinomish Slough

Oops wrong kind of bird

LOL like the sense of humor. You have a VAST number of big birds to choose from. Liked the eagle in the previous post. I still wish you had sound to go with the snow geese photos. Looking forward to the mail. Peace
I'm glad I'm not a snow goose - way too crowded for me. How can they see where they are going? I'm more of a great blue heron type. LOL
MB, you have a great sense of humor...the geese are wonderful, the eagle's delightful and the plane ties it all up perfectly!
Those first two shots remind me of that old Hitchcock movie "The Birds" which scared the pants off me when I was a kid! Love the eagle shot.
So many big birds. I agree with EG about the crowd. Yet you caught such great flight photos. The eagle does look huge. Was that a condor in the last shot, it's so big. LOL ;-)
You really do have lots of visiting birds of the feathered and metal sided kinds. We had a heron stop by our cabin about two weeks ago. We see them once in a while there, but mostly down at the marina. - Margy
Lol, I love the last one! Seriously, this is a fantastic series and my favourite has got to be the first one. Fantastic!
I love those big birds, including the last one. It makes flying to Colorado so much faster and warmer.
Hi Mary Beth, You have some GREAT pictures of the birds ---all of them, big and little---and even the airplane!!!! ha
Hugs,
Betsy
I would not want to be standing under thoses birds. Nice pictures
You are a crack up. I loved this post. I think the eagle was my favorite, though I think that last one wins for wing span. ;-}
The first two shots are simply AMAZING!!! I really love both!
These are excellent. I love pictures of birds and geese are a sight and sounds to behold.
You got great pictures of these big birds, including the last one. I like the picture of the eagle. It's wonderful you can get so close to them.
