Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!!
Skagit Valley is well known for for it's Tulips and Tulip Festival (April1-30) but starting now they are harvesting Daffodils. first the cut buds and then the bulbs in the fall. the workers cut the stems with the bulbs and they are sold in local stores and shipped out also. In the next few weels the valley will be awash with the color of Tulips---come take pictures.
Peas, corn and cucumber will be planted next.

Neat, so this is where they come from. Looks like a very hard job to have.
I had no idea but do know that one of my daughters brought a whole bunch of daffodils in to give her mom yesterday and said she picked them up at the grocery store and they probably came from those fields. Amazing.
Thanks for your visit and for your comments about me and my blonde wig.
Happy St. Patrick's day. Yes, awash with color ... and tulip peepers. Makes a shopping mall on the Saturday before Easter seem deserted by comparison.
I've never seen so many daffodils in one place. LOL Ah, but they cut them down to sell before they flower. I LOVE daffodils!
A field of daffodils? I've never seen so many of those cute little flowers together... great photos.
MB, re: your comment about Vespas and the Skagit Herald article, thanks for the link. I suspect I will cross paths with some of those people at some point this year. I go to a rally every August in Bellingham and expect a few of the Skagit folk will be there as well. Perhaps I'll see you on your shiny new scooter???
Beautiful! We've driven through that valley. I wonder if they ship some of those daffs to MT? *G* Happy St. Patrick's Day.
I'd love to make the trip and take some photos, but I fear it's a bit too far. You'll have to do the photography and show us how pretty it is.
Lovely shots. Happy St. Patts to you.
Very nice. I have been to the tulip festival a couple of times and found it most delightful!
I absolutely love fresh flowers and nobody has ever sent me any!!
Great pics!
Lucky you! Photo ops galore! :-)
