Took a closeby road trip looking for birds and found these guys at Ala Spit enjoying the water and nice weather. They were a pleasure to watch.
Non-breeding Sanderling (Caladris alba) so pretty and fun to watch.
Black Turnstone (Arenaria melanocephala) so interesting.
They were together right at the waters edge.

These guys are cute!
They look a little cold.
Thanks for sharing as we do not have these in Tn. Peace
I agree that birds are fun to watch and you have a lovely area in which to watch them.
Nice capture, and I like your layout of the light colored pair above with the chunkier and darker bird below.
They are cute and maybe cold.
Nice header.
very cute! maybe they could breed if they'd turn around and look at each other!
I really enjoy your photos. I wish I had more time to comment.
I was surprise by the caladris alba. When I first looked at the photo, I only saw two. They blend in well. Great shot.
I love sanderlings and painted some on a ocean scene mural for my new grandchild's nursery. The photo is on my blog. I've never seen a black turnstone. Guess I'll have to travel to WA again! Very nice blog and very great photos!
