Young's Park

Not a really big park, but if you're looking for a real quiet place to hang out, this is the place. There is a little beach area, lawn area, and a short trail through the woods. One could even stay in their car if the weather is bad and watch the boats go by. There is a nice view of some the surrounding islands.  One might be able to see Mount Baker on the mainland. Even on a grayer day, it was still fun walking around and get the sense of quiet you get here. If you're looking for a quiet place and not want to do a longer hike on Guemes, Young's Park is a great place to escape to.
The only way to get to Guemes is by boat or the small ferry from Anacortes.  The N. beach is called agate beach and we found many nice stones

My dad would have loved to visit agate beach. He was a big rock hound.

Hello, I always enjoy the local parks and scenery. I loved Anacortes too. The collection of pebbles looks pretty. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

This looks like a fine way to spend an afternoon. Always love ferry boats, and walking on beaches.

Those are very nice stones. Nice dedication for that park!

I had to look up Captain Young. Quite a story behind that medal. A lovely looking area.

I would love this place! Everything. But especially the stones. When I was young, I lived in Duluth, Minnesota...which is on Lake Superior. We would go down to a sandy beach area, and I'd find a variety of stones with different colors, different forms and different surfaces - some of them gritty and some smooth...much like your photo.

Great memories! Thanks for reminding me!
