The first pic with the clouds and sun dog I took at 5:11 looking west. With the second one I just turned around and took this totally different pic one minute later, looking east into the Cascades. Pretty weird, huh. MB

great pictures!
The way of fortune is like the milkyway in the sky.... Wonderful capture for skywatch! Mine's up too hope you can drop by, asking for your vote too... thanks a lot! Happy weekend
The sundog pictures is stunning,
and I wouldn't have expected such a different sight as you show in the second one, which is also truly beautiful! I like the blues and warm greys.
lovely - what a backdrop...
I've done that same thing: shoot a photo facing one direction, and then turn 180 degrees and shoot another. And you're right -- they're always completely different -- like they weren't even shot on the same day.

Both are fun to look at and lovely shots, MB. I think that sun halo must have been hard to capture just right. I especially love the Cascades all tucked in with their clouds behind the white barn.

Lovely contrast. And all one sky! It sometimes amazes me that looking west can look one way and looking east another. Thanks for posting both views.
The first is beautiful. The second is strange in a way - The clouds seem to have a different consistency.
I like the sundog picture. I have observed them in Arctic and Antarctic skies. May I ask if you are far north?
Stanwood, of course! I should have read more carefully! LOL!
Never seen a sundog shot before. Great pictures both.
Both photos are stunning however, I perfer the last one as I can drool over those mountains in the background. Peace
Nice shots I really like the second one.
Looks like you have a great view any which way you face. Happy SWF.
These are gorgeous shots MB. How thrilling to have such magnificent views no matter which direction.
Don't know about weird, but definitely pretty. You do good sky watch shots, MB.
Beautiful skywatch photos, MB! The sundog is really stunning. You seem to have snow on your mountains already!
Have an nice weekend!
Until is started bloggimg I had no idea what a sundog was. Now I know they're beautiful.
Both fantastic shots. The sundog is incredible, and so are the mountains. It's better because you were in the same place at the same time and got such different, beautiful sites. Well done.
Wonderful photo.. love the second one especially!
You took those just around your house? I need to live there...Wow!!!
Very very cool...amazing shots. Thanks for sharing
Fantastic! Next time I'd like to see a north and south shot as well, lol.
