Two Sky Watch Photos

The first pic with the clouds and sun dog I took at 5:11 looking west. With the second one I just turned around and took this totally different pic one minute later, looking east into the Cascades. Pretty weird, huh. MB

The sundog pictures is stunning,
and I wouldn't have expected such a different sight as you show in the second one, which is also truly beautiful! I like the blues and warm greys.

lovely - what a backdrop...

I've done that same thing: shoot a photo facing one direction, and then turn 180 degrees and shoot another. And you're right -- they're always completely different -- like they weren't even shot on the same day.

Both are fun to look at and lovely shots, MB. I think that sun halo must have been hard to capture just right. I especially love the Cascades all tucked in with their clouds behind the white barn.

Lovely contrast. And all one sky! It sometimes amazes me that looking west can look one way and looking east another. Thanks for posting both views.

The first is beautiful. The second is strange in a way - The clouds seem to have a different consistency.

I like the sundog picture. I have observed them in Arctic and Antarctic skies. May I ask if you are far north?

Stanwood, of course! I should have read more carefully! LOL!

Both fantastic shots. The sundog is incredible, and so are the mountains. It's better because you were in the same place at the same time and got such different, beautiful sites. Well done.
