'Twas a dark and stormy night

As I was driving across the Skagit Valley I took this pic looking east, lots of storm clouds. I then turned west and took this pic through my windshield. I saw a few sunbreaks through the rain and when the sun did come out I turned back to the east just knowing there had to be a rainbow---and there sure was.
1. I took this looking east at 5:12

2. west at 5:20
3. rainbow at 5:23

The rainbows (double) lasted about 5 minutes. It actually was the second one I saw today. An earlier one in town at about 3:20

I like your weather shots, MB. AND I'm jealous of your rainbows. I've been looking for a rainbow all summer. We've gotten the rain but no rainbows!

Ahhh!!!!! The last two are MAGIC!!!!

(regarding your comment on the post of Francisco Lobato, I've just edited it and added, on the 2md photo, «"The grin of a Winner", as MB from [Small City Scenes] so well described it!!!»

I think you caught the Skagit perfectly! This is how I normally envision it.

As soon as I saw the first one I knew it was the Skagit Valley! Wonderful shots of dramatic weather. Looks more like tulip time than August.

Awesome shots MB!! You are the Rainbow Queen.

The storm hasn't really affected where I live, but it has done some damage on the coast, about 50 miles from me.

So that is what it looks like. Rain that is. We are so DRY it is sad, the pond has gone down to a puddle and the fields are BROWN along with our yard. Only the trees have green leaves and now the walnut leaves are falling like rain and it is only August.
It is very sad for TN and us on the hill as we are losing big trees left and right. Almost all the tall oaks are dying. We have also lost a large hickory and the saddest was the biggest persimmon tree where it has fed the wildlife for years. I would really like it to rain here but not what Fl is having. Peace
