The Snow Geese are back to winter in the Skagit and Stillaguamish Valleys.
The Fir/Conway Lutheran Church dates back to 1886 and this church building was built in 1916. It is one of the most beautiful and also one of the most photographed Churches in the PNW
Hi MB! I knew Mercedes was involved somehow although I'm not sure if that's still true. Chrysler is still going but I think they got ride of the Daimler connection. I'm not sure of that, either. I know, I know, I'm not sure of anything.
Thanx for the info on the Snow Geese...I did post it 'cause I think it is good for other people to read the truth about Snow Geese!
The Church is a beauty and one time I would love to stand and see all those geese landing and flying and Honking away. What a wonderful natural sight. Peace
Your fairy is called Columbine Goblindancer She is a bringer of riches and wealth. She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows. She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

I'm not sure which is more impressive -- the church or all those snow geese. Of course the mountain scenery is pretty special as well.
Wow----that's a 'two-fer'... I love the church (wow) ---but I also love seeing the geese... Another WOW...
Hugs,
Betsy
That is definitely beautiful! And, I see a barn in the background, too, which makes the shot even better! LoL! =)
They sure love the fields in the river valleys. - Margy
Well the church makes a nice backdrop to all those geese. Must be deafening.
This is a beautiful spot. And as I recall there is an eagle's nest in the trees behind the church, along the river.
All those snow geese make me smile. I'm glad they stay up your way, though. We've got enough mess with all the geese the Canadians send us! :-)
The church is attractive, too. Actually, it's a very nice photo all around!
Oh I love how you composed this with the white church and the white geese!

Meanwhile, have yourself a very good week!
Lovely shot MB! I wouldn't mind seeing the inside of that church.

what is the location of this church?
Ron, this church is in Conway Washington. Just over the the bridge (South Fork of the Skagit River) on Fir Island. MB
I still can't imagine just how much noise must accompany these shots of the geese taking flight.
