Mt. Shuksan and Picture Lake On the way to Mt.Baker

Remember back on June 4th I posted a picture of Mt.
Shuksan and Picture Lake only the Lake was still under 20 feet of snow.  So last Sunday we went up to Mt. Baker and on the way we did get a picture of Mt. Shuksan reflected in the Lake.  The ice is still melting and the road closer to Baker, Heather Meadows and Artist Point are closed and still covered with tons of snow.
It was a perfect day--blue sky, sunshine (70s) and puffy white clouds for contrast.
More pics tomorrow----or at least next posting.  MB

Beautiful reflection and temperature when we are in the 100 deg + including one day 114 deg. We are having a hard time keeping cool and our plants alive.

So gorgeous. About 35 years ago I stood, I think, almost exactly where you stood to take this photograph. Doesn't that make you think about how small the world is and how many strings of coincidence connect us?

It is rare to see such a perfect reflection and the subject itself is wonderful!

Can't beat this, MB! Zounds! You knew what I was going to say: Frame it and hang it! And be sure your name is on it. Be proud.

Glad you're having so much fun!

OMGosh, breathtaking! Hard to imagine tons of snow in August, though... esp when it's 8:40pm & the heat index is 114 degrees =0

Now I know why it is called picture lake. We hope to take our annual Skagit kayak trip next week if there isn't too much water in the river. If it is like last year I'll be fine, but I wouldn't like it much faster or higher. - Margy
