Repurposed Barn

I have always liked this barn. Maybe it is the mystic of having humans in the barn instead of cows. It is used as a residence and a studio. I love the porch with the well worn chairs. MB

Old Betty

Lots of bloggers are posting old photos on Wednesday so I thought I would too.

These pictures are of a pony we had named Betty. My first daughter got for a Christmas present when she was 4. She had already been riding the horses but I figured if she was going to fall then a pony was already closer to the ground.

The quality of these pics isn't very good but I am sure you can see them well enough.

Betty was the very best pony. You could walk all over her, under her and she was gentle and patient. She was a dandy baby sitter and a playmate for my kids. . All my kids learned to ride on her. As you can see, even a baby was safe on here. I have a picture somewhere of my youngest--sitting on the front porch, holding onto Betty's reins and my daughter is sound asleep. Betty just stood there waiting patiently. We had her at least 11 years. She died in her pasture.

Oddly enough, my eldest isn't in any of these pics. I dunno why!! MB

A piece of summer

It has been so gray and dreary that I need a sunny shot. I went through some pictures and found this one of some containers I put together. They are on the back steps off the deck. they do make me feel better. MB

The Foot

This sculpture is at Marine Park at the 10th St. boat Launch in Everett Wa. I like to come here and watch the people and pleasure/fishing boats. I have always called this sculpture 'The Foot' or even just 'toes'. It has always amused me---don't ask why. It is call Surf 11 and is by Stan Wanlass and I cannot find anything about it. Maybe someone else can.

Isn't it odd that even though I took these pictures today all at near the same time and the sky is so different at different angles. MB
