i'd love to have apple trees! those look delicious!
Oh good grief! That is just too wonderful. The last apples we got at the supermarket were wee things and tough as nails and not very sweet! Count all 19 of your blessings!
Nice group of trees. That big apple makes me hungry. Peace
What great apples and pears. I love fresh, crisp apples. There was an apple tree (must have been from an old home on our condo site) out front along Bakerview Road. But beavers moved in (no necessarily a bad thing) and completely gnawed through the trunk. Poor old tree. - Margy
Those are good lookin' apples. We have trouble getting any crop of apples here in town.
I have never heard of Akane...have heard of Spartan. But don't know what either tastes like. Are they tart, sweet, or what I call full flavored...a little bit of everything.
I would love to go somewhere where I could taste of some of the older breeds...always read of Northern Spies, Limber twigs and Lodi in old books.
We had a few Blushing Golden apples at the orchard...they are my absolute favorite...very full flavored. They are what my mouth waters for when I get to thinking about wanting an apple.
But Jonalicious is almost as good...but they are not good for cooking or baking. They are a bit firmer and last a bit better than Jonagold.
Now I am hungry for an apple!
All organic I hope.
So... apple pie? Pear pie?
Pears poached in red wine?
What a treasure trove of mouth-watering goodness!
That is a wonderful orchard. It should provide you with many delicious treats -- if the deer will leave some for you.
How wonderful to have all this fresh fruit growing in the yard.
The apples look delicious. This year, will be the first year that I will be able to enjoy our pears. The squirrels usually pluck the pears off of the trees. This year, if they try, they will be stung by our bees. The beehive is right next to the pear tree.
