My Grandpa.....

........was a fire fighter in Seattle, Wa.  many years ago
I don't remember him at all--
I don't think I ever met him yet he remained a larger than life figure in our family

Joseph Schmidt was his name---here he is sitting on a horse and.....
.....driving the team and fire truck

Valley Barns

A random few

This guy just looked forlorn just resting there
I thought this looked neat --a small shed in front---newly plowed field a farm and silo and off above the hills and behind the clouds is Mt. Baker
And then the girls say Hey or is it really HAY they are saying

They're Back

A few of the 'new' birds that are back for Spring and Summer
A couple shots of the Western Tanager.  I seldom see this one so while the shots are not perfect---I know what I saw!!! I am very excited to see him.  They are here from May to Sept and winters from Mexico to Costa Rica

The Evening Grosbeak is really a beautiful bird.---So named because it was thought they only came out in the evening but not true.~~~erroneous!
This is Mister and next is the Missus
The back view of the male with a Goldfinch hanging around
 Goldfinch
Another Grosbeak---This is the Black-Headed---that's obvious
 Another pretty bird
We always have Goldfinches hanging around--more often than not--upsidedown!
