There is a plowing contest in Lynden every spring---we love going to watch the beautiful horses and plowmen and women. This one was specially neat as she is also in period costume

... a wonderful sight that is seen every spring in Amish land.
Beautiful horses working together. That women looks like she is an expert at plowing with a team.
Whew! That is a lot of work!
It is a hard work, for horses and woman.Good captures.
There is something similar held in Ontario each summer.
Those horses are simply magnificent. That's a tough way to plow, though. I'm wondering are these merely "period" costumes or are these representative Amish folks? Happy New Year again!
They are beautiful horses!
The reminds me of my grandfather working the fields. Actually I never saw her use horses for plowing but there are family stories which we enjoy.
This would be really neat to see....our ancestors sure worked hard! Love those beautiful work horses!
I just LOVE this!
