Salmon Berry (Rubus Spectibilis) Belongs to the Rose family.
In the Pacific Northwest of North America the berries can ripen from mid-June to late July. Although I took these shots just last week---go figure it was only May.
Salmonberries are found in moist forests and stream margins, especially in the coastal forests. They often form large thickets, and thrive in the open spaces under stands of red alder. Needless to say they are everywhere here in the woods. They have a very pretty pink to fuchsia to red flower.

I'm new to the area and have been wondering what they were , thanks.
Wonderful colors!
Pretty! Are they edible?
Such exquisite beauties, both berry and flower! I had never heard of Salmonberries, until now, thank you,

An enchanting berry and flower. The berry almost looks like a large raspberry.
Salmon berries? Are you pulling our collective legs? They're pretty but are they edible? I dunno, but the whole thing sounds kinda fishy to me! :)
The blossoms are very pretty and the berries look yummy. They are edible, right?
how very pretty! in both stages of life!
Great photos - love those salmonberries. We see them alongside the roads a lot up here in Bellingham, as well as in the woods. The berries are not as thick on the plants here as they were in S.E. Alaska - you could stand in one spot and pick half a gallon with no problem. We used to make Salmonberry Jelly - such clear pretty colors - gold and red.
Lowell cracks me up with his comments! These are beautiful pictures.
I wondered what salmon berries were..now I know!
I'm assuming that those salmon berries are edible...
