Kylee had to make it to Monroe to ride in the rodeo. Her truck was stuck in the snow at my house but her friend Lexi in Lynden Wa (about 55mi away) said she would meet her at the Freeway. 4 miles away from my house. So we put her saddle etc in the back of the Jeep and Kylee sat in the back and let Macaroni.
About two+ miles she decided to ride Mac instead of leading him. We followed. Snow is a bugger to ride in when it is melting and sloppy and still icy.
But off she went.....
We met Lexi's dad and he welcomed her. So off they went.
It too over one hour to ride the 4 miles in the snow. Anything to ride.
At the rodeo when they were announcing the Barrel Racers they told Kylee's story about riding in the snow and rain just to get there. Our heroine LOL
BTW: she had a good ride at the rodeo too.

Now that's dedication. It's also crazy. But what a gal! Tough sledding! I'd be a little afeared of riding the horse downhill in that icy slush.
Thanx for the great poem. I'm seeing a wee bit of mold around the edges now!
You're a poet
And you know it
But by god
I've been told
I'm more fartsy than artsy
I need to come in from the cold!
You said I was
One of the ancients
Rusty and crusty and old.
I cried in my beer
Went to look in the mirror
'Bout died when I saw all the mold!
That's amazing. It's good to see someone this young that dedicated to something so wholesome. Friends are wonderful things too.
That's dedication!
That is REAL dedication, Mary Beth... AND--I'll bet that for you, that was the longest four miles of your life...
Glad she made it... That was neat that they told her story...
Hugs,
Betsy
Now that is what you call a "REAL COWGIRL". I love the fact they told her story at the rodeo. Peace
You go Girl!!!!
That is true cowgirl commitment.
She MUST love to ride. Would love to see a real rodeo, not one just travelin' for show.
Great post! Love to see her riding her horse in the snow. And bareback, too (okay .... blanket back).
That looks like a Kiefer Gensis trailer! We had one almost identical to that for our daughter. They are reall nice.
Take care.
Now that is dedication. And looks very, very cold.
PS I did try the Buzzard's Breath chili. I thought it was okay, but it was Magpie's favorite. By the way, I wanted to tell you that I am not a fan of cold Macaroni, but in this case I can make an exception. :-)
Kylee (and you) is definitely dedicated to her sport. I'm glad she made it in time for the rodeo, and I'm glad you shared these pictures with us.
I'm always amazed when I see people on horseback on slice and ice. That sure was a long ride but her performance was worth it,
It's good Macaroni didn't get worn out just getting to the rodeo. Glad she made it with your help. - Margy
