It looks to be in good shape to be that old. My in-laws were married in 1942, so your thumbnail caught my eye. Visiting from Barn Charm. Thanks for sharing!
I love it when the year is available & thank for adding it in the post! That last shot really makes me long for warmer weather, although, it hasn't been that awfully cold here, yet... but I miss the flowers! =)
Thanks for joining... I'll leave the cartwheels to the others! LoL! =)
That extra long barn reminds me of the many chicken and turkey barns in my state that are contracted by Tyson which pays you to raise the birds. from all I've heard Tyson comes out a winner by far. A lot sit empty after a couple of seasons.
That barn will hold a lot of chickens! I do like how the Skagit Valley posts the date the barn was built on its historic register signs. There must be the perfect roost right above that sign....
One heck of a chicken coop. But I'd already seen it. I was hungry and asked a fox where I could find some chicken. He took me here. Can you believe it?
Your fairy is called Columbine Goblindancer She is a bringer of riches and wealth. She lives in mushroom fields and quiet meadows. She is only seen when the bees swarm and the crickets chirrup. She wears lilac and purple like columbine flowers. She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

Wow, that is one long house!
Those birds should have more respect for heritage barns.

This looks very well maintained for its age! Lucky chickens!
I love barns! I like the older ones best! Interesting how there are different styles of barns in different parts of the country.
It's good to be reminded all barns aren't just for cows or horses. I wonder what a chicken had to do to get in the penthouse suites...
It is a beauty, even if it is a chicken house.

That's quite a long barn -- much longer than most around here. And it is very obvious that the birds find this barn charming as well.
Wow---that last one is a BIG and LONG barn... Some that size in our area are used for raising chickens...
I was born in 1942---so that first one is special to me.
Hugs,
Betsy
I prefer free range chicken... :-)The birds' offerings look like my windowsills on a bad day. :-(
It sure is a lo-o-o-o-o-ng barb! Must be lots of chickens live there!
Nice shots! Happy Barn Charm!

Obviously taken good care of. That would be a Lot of chickens.
That's a big one! I love that you shared that built in pic.
Very interesting building. This chicken house has much more character than the factory farm buildings I see here in Iowa!
Always enjoy seeing your barn photos.
Take care.
