Smoky Sky in the West

Canada is on track for a near-record wildfire season this year. So far, there have been more than 500 fires just in British Columbia, burning across more than 1 million acres. Firefighting costs have already reached more than $172 million, and weeks of warm and dry weather will keep the fire danger high.
Most of the fires have been in three main areas, according to NASA, which has been tracking the burned areas via satellites. Most affected are the  Frasier Plateau  north of Vancouver, the Thomas Plateau, east of Whistler, and the region east of Kamloops.
I live in Stanwood just below British Columbia and we are experiencing the smoke from the fires

Young at Heart

August 1st Theme Day at City Daily Photo
The Theme is Young at Heart.
I think Young at Heart is a 'feeling'---a feeling that hopefully we all have no matter what age.  To be happy--to be having fun. To be silly

Gazanias and Morning Glories

Gazanias are one of my favorite flowers.  I start them from seed and they always impress and please me.  They are bright and very cheery to me.  They only open when the sun is out so we really hope for sun.
Morning Glory (ipomoea) is another favorite.  I start them from seed also.  You get many colors from one seed packet.  Their centers glow even when there is no sun.

Puppy

My daughter S found this wee pup at the gas station in a pile of old clothes by a row of clothes deposit bins.  She was so tiny and pitiful looking she just couldn't leave her.  It is the sweetest puppy ever.
Tiny with big ears.  She likes sitting on Honks the Donkey

 Sleeping with the big dogs

 Happy and even smiling
Going for truck rides.  There she is under Dorothy's head and Klyde next to her.
 They named her Toola

Fair Time

So next week is the Stanwood-Camano Fair and I need two perfect pictures to enter.  We are also entering some Garlic, hardnecked and soft--nice and huge and some flowers.

I do like this one
 And this
 And this pink Morning Glory

I do like the blues too
Of course I've got like 6 trillion images to look through.
It has to be a photograph taken this past year
