Went for my first albeit short hike after surgery. Bob and I went to the Tree Farm. Both our houses are on or in the tree farm. Pilchuck Tree farm is comprised of 15,000 acres of mixed wood forest. there are over 100 miles of trails and forestry roads. The trails are created and managed by the Horse riders association and various mountain biking groups. No motors allowed.. So it was a nice day on Monday so off we went.
We came to this clearing which is actually a replanted area. It was logged awhile ago.
Here are some new little trees coming up. I saw mostly Cedar and douglas Fir replanted.
A forestry road. I forgot to post a beautiful path we took
We did syop and partake in the yummy blackberries
Another view from the tree farm. I think that is Mt. Pilchuck in the background

Glad to hear you are taking short hikes and what a wonderful area to hike into and with a few juicy bites of berries to top it off. Peace
Yay for you! Looks like you had a nice day. I would love some of those blackberries!
Yeah Rah... So glad you are able to hike some now. Just take it slow and easy ---and you will be fine!!!! Gorgeous tree farm... I'd love those blackberries also.
Hugs,
Betsy
Good for you. Glad to see you are out and about with your knee. I am amazed that the blackberries here seem to be coming in later than up the coast in Powell River. You would think it would be the other way around. - Margy
What a fantastic place to walk about and pick berries and look at mountains!
So glad you are out and about a little bit. Got to believe it's going to keep getting better.
I yelled, Yippee!, when I saw the title to your post. So glad you're beginning to get out and what a lovely place to get to do just that. It would certainly inspire me to get walking. Be kind to yourself, but enjoy your new found freedom.
You go girl!!! Set the end of October as your goal...We will be hiking. For Bob's sake! :)
You picked a beautiful spot for your first hike. I'll bet it felt wonderful to be out enjoying nature again. I am totally envious of those blackberries. I spent a lot of time picking them when I was a kid in Oregon--of course more went into my mouth than the pail!
