South Bluff

Skyline Marina
Boats zipping around
Beautiful, weathered tree

Some views from South Bluff of Washington Park at Anacortes. I hope the sun shines soon so I can take some bright pictures. It is so GRAY here when there is no sun. Or it just rains--we have had three time normal rainfall so far this year. Well, if you are from here you will have webbed feet. See look at mine. MB
Click on the pics to enlarge them and see more.

This year may be a blessing with all the rain. Last year was a drought year and it damaged the buds on the trees so that his year the trees look awful with bits and pieces of leaves and what looks like burned edges of those that do partially open. New ones will have to replace what opened so it will be another stressful year for plants and trees.

To me, at least, this seems more like a normal year than any we have had in recent years.

Your photographs are interesting to look at and quite different from the acres and acres of flat farm country like we have here.

We've had grey skies here in Ontario too but ot as much rain.

The sky is BLUE today (and was yesterday evening). The forcast is hot and hazy for later. Strong possibility of thunderstorms. Crazy weather but not like areas experiencing tornadoes.

I agree with Abe that it's very pleasant to see the mountains in your pics.

We are to have a sunny day in the morning and part of the afternoon, but then the rain is to move in. And with the highs in the 80s and high dew points, it will be a muggy, and hot day.

The pictures are lovely. You have some beautiful scenery in your area.

I enjoyed your post today - the pics are very pretty - we've had a lot of rain here too in Southeast Missouri some of which caused a major flood in April, but it's starting to shape up around here and I hope for the same for you in WA too!

BTW... I wanted to comment on your picture at the top of your page! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! I would sooo love to live in the mountains! It's hard for me to imagine mountains peaks THAT high seeing how I'm in Missouri that's not exactly flat, but more so rolling hills. Nothing like Washington State! I'd have to say that you're lucky to live amongst such BEAUTY!!!

Where was the webbed feet photo? I couldn't see it on my screen. LOL!

Yeah, what a drag. June? Seems more like November in these parts.

I agree with Chuck. When I went out yesterday I came right back in and changed into heavier, warmer clothing - I even put on my long winter nether garments. Victoria, however, even when it's cold and gray in the morning often gets sunny in the afternoons, thank God! I don't like the grayness so often characteristic of our Pacific Northwest either.

Thanks for your visit and kind words about my blog.

Wow, what a beautiful place! I have a cousins who spend the summers in your part of the country (on Whidbey Island) but I've never been there.
