The Lilies are huge, some are almost 6 ft tall---little quacker is watching over them---or is it the other way around

 A couple of tomato plants---they are prospering.  We have 60 tomato plants

 This white Peafowl came to visit and then disappeared

 I am glad we don't have snakes here.  this guy was at my daughter's in EW

Fir-Conway Lutheran Church

Not too far from where I live is the small town of Conway bordered on the west by the Skagit River and when you cross over the river (by bridge of course) you will immediately find the Fir-Conway Lutheran church.  There used to be a town called Fir that burned in the late 1800s and was not rebuilt. It is on Fir Island which is bound by the south and north fork of the Skagit River.
The Church is one of the most photographed buildings around.

 It is so neat to see Mt. Baker from a certain angle and then with the snow Geese in the corn field---it is just breathtaking.

The smaller church is no longer there and has been replaced by another building.  The house in the background is now a private residence

Home Again

We have been gone for several days visiting my daughter and family in Ritzville, Wa.  They ranch there on her husbands land.  the family has been ranching there for over 100 years.  It is a most wonderful place.  It is in an area called the Channeled Scablands.  to read more about the Scablands go~~~HERE .  It is a wondrous place to have a cow/calf operation 

A dog named Two loves to hang out the window in the truck--then a Mama Cow and a couple of calves meet us at a gate---A Bull going across a creek looking for the cow that was ahead of him and finally 3 of the ranch dogs.  The cattle are moved by cowboys and 1 cowgirl and dogs---a joy to watch 
We also went to Spokane to visit my Grandson Mike who is a psychologist there.

 Ritzville was and is major wheat shipping point in the Big Bend Country.  Wheat remains the key to Ritzville's economy as does ranching.

We also visited the Palouse country.  The patchwork quilt patterns of the land are beautiful and a great photo op. 
Thousands of acres of wheat blanket the rolling hills, and their color—from spring green to autumn gold—tells of the passing of the seasons.  A viable agricultural region, the area holds the largest concentration of wheat per acre in the world. Barley, onions and 30 percent of the world’s lentils are grown here.
The land hosts waterfalls and sudden valleys. Magnificent buttes give way to panoramic views, and the horizon seems to go on forever.
