I happened to catch this guy hanging about the feeders. These birds are mostly ground birds but I think he was curious and wanting to test the waters. I occasionally see one near the feeders in the tree anyway. this fellow actually landed on the suet feeder, startled himself and off he went. At least he let me get some shots.

Yes you a right, a very pretty bird. Have a lovely weekend.
Hello!:)The Varied Thrush is a very striking looking bird.Great captures of all the birds, which I never have the pleasure of seeing in Portugal. Thanks for sharing, and have a good weekend.
Hello, your backyard birds are pretty. I love the Varied Thrush and the Juncos. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
ahhh...makes me feel horrible...that I haven't been keeping the feeders full lately. We've had fewer visitors of the winged variety...and the squirrels finish it off too soon. I go now and resupply.
:)
You got some wonderful shots of these birds, which you must really enjoy watching based on the number of feeders you have!
Wonderful series of bird photos and all right in your backyard!
Wishing you a fun weekend ~ ^_^
The thrush is a very pretty one, and one that we don't see here.
You are surrounding by a riot of birds. Let's hope they've never seen the Hitchcock film! Oh boy, would you be in trouble. A foggy day in Stanwood I see!
Flocking to Mary Beth's feeding station.
Extraordinary bird the thrush is. And your photos too.
Love the last photo of all the feeders and birds on a foggy day.
the thrush is a beauty, but i love your sweet juncos, too! you have tri-color whereas we usually get slate gray. :)
I love watching those guys scratching through the leaf mulch in the garden.
It is a gorgeous bird...love the shots of it...and I really like that last shot, too.
I love the Varied Thrushes. What an amazing shot of all the birds.
I've only seen a Varied Thrush once at the cabin, but I hear their distinctive one note call often. They must like the protection of the bush rather than the open cliffs. - Margy
Such a beautiful bird! You got some great shots!
What a very smart bird, we have nothing like it on this side of the water.
