Old barns

Barns in the Skagit Valley.  A couple in Stanwood and a couple in the Nooksack Valley
This one in Skagit Valley.  I always liked this outfit with the Blue roofs.
And Mt. Baker in the background
This is a newer barn in Stanwood

 Share the road
This old barn is on the ranch my daughter lives on.  It is coming down.
 Nooksack Valley barn
 And another
This is a barn at my place.  Looks like it needs a paint job.  Any volunteers?

Ah, we have share the road signs too. :) I love the shadows in the barn that's coming down but I can see it really NEEDS to come down.

The first two pictures with the white barn and the house with the blue roof are so pretty. The newer one looks similar in architecture to ones that was recently built here. The caution sign for the tractors is one we see often here. I must admit I am a bit jealous of your getting to go inside the old dilapidated barn where you daughter lives. Seeing those shadows and the way the board are laid out in the construction are amazing. Those old farmers knew what they were doing when they built there barns.Lastly, the V pattern of the boards in the nest to last one is captivating to the eye. I ham having the optical illusion that the barn is leaning towards me. Thank you so much for such an interesting post. I loved it.

The shadow effect of the one being brought down is mesmerizing!

Great pictures - it is interesting that we travel the same roads over and over and still each of us find different barns - love the ones you showed today. We went out behind Lynden yesterday - found a few more new barns. Maybe when my blogging "vacation" is over I'll post them. Right now I'm just having fun taking pictures and enjoying the rides.

A great and grand collection of barns, newer and old. I'd like to help paint your barn, so I may stop by some time. Why don't you go ahead and get started. I might be a little delayed. :)

Thanks Mary Beth for sharing this diverse collection of barns, from pristine to leaning to the DYI paint job. I hate to paint...I'd be no help! Have a great week and I hope you return with some more barns soon.

Like your barn shots, especially the one with all the shadow patterns. What a terrific photo.

Oh, my, MB...that one from Nooksack...the first one...it is absolutely awesome. The barn coming down looks like it has been a big one. The newer one near Stanwood looks like you could about live in the loft.
