Potato Patch Homesteaders~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Wild Bird Wednesday

We found this nest in the row of Potatoes, with I think two babies laying there just breathing.  A parent was nearby--not in panic mode yet but letting us know that we had better leave.

Two babies I think---could be another one stuffed in there.

Cute - even though they are so strange looking without feathers or much fluff! Great photos.

Hi how wonderful to have found that and to be able to photograph it for us to see. I Hope they are not too exposed. Margaret

The white-crowned sparrow is new to me. Very attractive bird. And probably experiencing high levels of anxiety with you sniffing around her nest! :)

They're so tiny!

They will fly before you know it. In the meantime, you can eat tatties.

It's incredible how small and vulnerable they look, what a sweet summer discovery!

Are they baby robins? You know squabs are a delicacy! :)

What a nice find - and the parent looks relaxed enough.

The kids did have a bit of a laugh about locking D out of the house!

That's interesting finding a bird nest complete with baby birds in the potatoes! I find them in the raspberries, but at least that is up off the ground a little bit. Great pictures, as always!
