Overwhelmed

I went to the post office in Conway today. Thought I would go just down the road to the river. These Snow Geese were munching quietly in the field when all of a sudden--WHOOSH--they swarmed up in the air twisted and turned and raced around. Down on the ground they went, then back up in the air and then down again as if nothing happened and commenced to muching again.
They chortle and grunt when on the ground but when they swarm and fly they squack and make a tremendous noise. It is very heart-stirring when you see this. One good thing is they don't p**p when they fly. Thank God for small favors.
How would you like to live in this house?

Lovely photos. We've been near a huge flock like that when they flew up - the sound of their wings is amazing as they cut through the air - and the sight is breathtaking. I didn't know that part about not p**ping when they fly - we wondered how it was that when they swarmed over our heads we didn't get hit by anything. Thanks for sharing.

Incredible! "Swarm" is certainly the right word. A great BIG swarm of BIG birds. Almost scary and it doth remind me of Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds."

They are pretty though. Pretty big poopers, too!

I left you a note on The Villages DP...and Florida Fotos...

Gorgeous...and it reminds me of something I was thinking yesterday while out taking pictures of flowers. "If you all could smell what I'm seeing." For you it would be "If you all could hear what I'm seeing."

You already answered my first question looking at this flock: they don't p**p flying, it would be carpet bombing... Awesome shots and experience!

I'm not sure I could appreciate all those geese if that was my house! I think I'll enjoy the pictures from a little further away, thank you.

Dear GOD in Heaven, how do they keep from flying into each other?! That's crazy, there's sooo many!
If I lived there, I'd take a tremendous amount of pictures, for sure!!!

«Louis» had the sunroof of the Vachemobile open one otherwise fine day when a seagull, a.k.a. Flying Cow dropped a 500 kg bomb right through the open roof, splattering on «Louis'» chrome dome, glasses, shirt - everything.

What a stinking mess!

WOW! I've never seen anyplace with so many birds. If we see 10 or 20 together, we think it's a lot. I really have to see them someday!
