The Birds are back.................

The Snow Geese are back in Stanwood"s Stilly Valley and Skagit Valley.  Snow Geese winter over in the valley along with Eagles, Trumpeter Swan, Many other Raptors and Ducks.  The Snow Geese come from Wrangel Island in Siberia to gorge in the fields and marshes of the Skagit Valley Delta.  They are here October to April (although the farmers wish they would leave in March)  Their numbers peak in November and December where as many as 100,000 have been counted in the valley. These are like the Advance Guard of Geese.  A small number soon to be multiplied.
