This is Pass Lake. It is a pretty little lake up by Deception Pass. It is open all year 'round. Fly fishing only, barbless hooks, no gasoline motors and catch and release. Peaceful fun.
Also: Good-bye, Jay Leno!!

I took this shot Wednesday night while I was on Fir Island looking back towards Anacortes. I took pics from start to finish of the wonderful colors.
If you would like to see more beautiful skies from all over this wonderful world or would like to Participate go to www.skyley.blogspot.com

I found this very different grave stone at a cemetary between Sedro Woolley and Burlington. I believe the man was a logger or worked in the woods. His title is Woodman of the Wo...and I can't make out the rest. Either of the Woods or World.

These mail and paper boxes are at a new developement of 5 acre tracts on Whidbey Island. I had never seen boxes like this and was amused by them. MB

As you can see this picture was taken just before the tree leafed out. Right then it was FULL of these black birds.
It is Memorial Day sometimes called Decoration Day here in the US. Remember all who have gone before us.
Enjoy and Be Safe. MB

I am having a hard time accessing some blogs. Well some I can visit their blog but I cannot leave a comment. So I will keep trying because I do want to leave a comment. So keep visiting me and leave a comment, please. I keep telling myself PATIENCE. MB
I saw this nest in the winter when it was easier to see because of no leaves on the trees. I have been waiting to see any activity around it and LOOK! a Hawk settled in.

Bullock's Oriole (Loterus bulllockii) arrives here in May and is gone by August. Wintering in Mexico. Interesting fact: Bullocks are not Orioles at all but blackbirds. Naturalists gave them that name because they reminded them of The Golden Oriole of Europe.
I was stopped on the road by my house looking at all the new foals when this beauty swooped in front of me and landed on the fence right beside me. I wanted to roll down the window but didn't want to scare him away. So I took the picture through the side window and fash he was gone. Just a flash of gold. Very pretty. MB

Look!! The Sun, the sun. Well you tend to get excited when you see the sun after a couple days of rain and gray skies. And of course out here anytime we think we might see the sun the shorts and sunglasses go on---who cares what the temperature is. Lots of goosebumps. Ha! So.......This is the sun coming up this morning over the roof of my house. and then finally--blast and I am almost blinded--you can see what happened to my pic. MB
I you would like to see more skies from around the world or would like to participate got to www.skyley.blogspot.com Thank you

I could tell That Tuesday evening was going to have a nice sunset. The clouds high in the sky were pinkish and purpely (my word). I can't too much west because of the trees. So I hopped in the car and drove down the hill to Starbird road---and there it was, the sky over Skagit Bay. I took about a zillion pictures as the skyscape changed minute by minute. Not only was the sunset beautiful but all the clouds were awesome. I turned to look east and such a beautiful color over the little farm. Alpenglow! Both pics were taken at 8:44PM.
And then it rained all evening and overnight.

An extremely beautiful day here in Western Washington---well at least in the Stanwood area. Mount Rainier was out showing off her beauty to all. This is how she is seen from the deck of my house.
There was a playday or Western Games event at the fairgrounds put on by the Stilly Valley Horse Club. Shannon and Kylee were there. Here is Kylee riding Macaroni. She did good and was in the money today.
Look at this Peewee rider. Isn't she and her pony cute.

This beautiful little (click on first picture for a more glorious view) Canada Goose family will never be the same. One of the adults (Mama or Papa) is missing.

Here are my horses and ponies. The first one is Bucky--he looks like he is on top of the world---nope just his pasture. the second pic is the rest of the bunch and my G-son Bradley. Left to right: Vegas, Jewel (Kylee's ride at the rodeos) Macaroni, Tuffy and Bradley. Tuffy and Bucky started out in life as Miniature Horses but grew a few inches too tall. Jewel is a Quarter Horse and the other two are supposed to be Q horses but we really know Jewel is.

The long road home from Eastern Washington. I have to go over these mountains. See the snow covered mt. in the background? I am headed for that one. Look at the clouds in the sky in the first picture. Now look at the clouds in the second picture--hey--I think they are the one and the same. The Mt. is Crater mountain elevation 7, 802ft. See the face in the crater. See the difference in the terrain from East to West. Interesting, eh?
Babooshka wanted me to repost the sky posts 3 and 4 posts below for Sky Watch but you may scroll down and enjoy. Thanks. MB

Just like a lot of other things, Rodeo is 'hurry up and wait'. Here is K waiting, running and turning for home. She did pretty good. This is High School Rodeo. Last weekends rodeo was in Okanogan, Washington.

I came home from Eastern Washington via the North Cascades High way. It is closed all winter because of the heavy snowfall. It opened the last week in April, so there is still plenty of snow around. It is a great place to go hiking---there are many trail heads. the first picture show where part of the road where I had been. Fun huh!! MB

Somewhere in Eastern Washington.
As the Moon was going down the Sun was coming up---in a great fashion I must say.
It's kinda neat when it happens at the same time. MB

Caught this Friday night somewhere in Eastern Washington. The skies were amazing the next two nights. MB
Breaking news..........
I'm going to be gone for a few days. I shall return. (I hope)

The little goslings are growing fast. These shots were taken 6 days apart. Do you think they have grown?

Here are Kylee and Jewel running the barrels again. She set the time to beat 17.930 (seconds) but alas 1 other in her division beat here time, but at least she placed second. After this run it poured rain so I left. Only training and jackpot left. She stayed though.

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of man---The shadow knows--bwahahahahaha!!
Actually my picture for theme day is the road through the woods and the shadows on the pavement.
